Rakhma--the word means "unconditional love," "charity," "benevolence" and "mercy" in Aramaic--is a story that began in 1994, when Shirley Joy Shaw began her mission to preserve the dignity of those living with memory loss by providing compassionate, loving care in a familiar home setting. Today, there are three Rakhma Homes--Rakhma Peace in Minneapolis, Rakhma Joy in St. Paul, and Rakhma Grace in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Each Rakhma Home serves 11 residents, providing assisted living, Alzheimer's care, skilled nursing, hospice, short-term care, respite and in-home care.
With monthly rents starting at $4,500, Rakhma is one of the few Minnesota memory care facilities that accepts Medicaid and Veteran's benefits.
Rakhma, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to providing personal, heart-centered, loving care for the frail elderly, according to these core values: Loving our residents. Embracing our families. Celebrating the present moment.
